| I have been trying to be more inventive with color by pre-mixing my color palette based on color studies from collage experiments. I used the two collages above to devise the colors scheme for the painting below. |

Without relying on a whole lot of visual reference material, I have been approaching the top panel of this diptych simply with the idea of "weaving clouds through tree tops" in my mind. I am not sure where this is headed, but it was my intention for this first semester to let loose a bit and experiment with several different directions. I suspect that good things make eventually result from working in ways that initially feel uncomfortable.
